Hayden Haddock To Release New Single “I’ll Bring The Matches”
For Immediate Release
June 9, 2026
Nashville, Tenn. – From the heart of the Lone Star State, independent country recording artist Hayden Haddock has announced the upcoming release of his latest studio recording, “I’ll Bring The Matches,” due Friday, July 10, 2026. Penned by Jacob Boyd and Dan Hutson and tracked at the historic Rosewood Studios in Tyler, Texas under the direction of producer Drew Hall, the song captures the essence of legendary juke joint and barroom saloon tunes that define the Texas music scene.
The honky-tonk swagger song ignites with a rockabilly guitar riff that builds the foundation for the classic country instrumental bed, while flirtatious fiddle dances through the arrangement to illuminate the infectious energy. The tune spotlights Haddock’s signature vocals, delivering a masterclass in modern country music doused in tradition.
Channeling elements from a number of country hits, like the mischievous storyline of “Goodbye Earl” (The Chicks) and the flirtatious insinuation of “We’ll Burn That Bridge” (Brooks & Dunn), the feel-good up-tempo vibe flips the switch on traditional melancholic country songs. With full intent to be her “last kiss,” Haddock’s cry-on-my shoulder narrative strikes a match to turn a farewell breakup song into a cheeky tale of a romance lit by intentional arson – ultimately leaving an unfavorable relationship in a cloud of dust.
“The song is from the perspective of a guy with hopeful intentions,” Haddock says. “His angle is to coax her to leave ‘Mr. Wrong’ so that she can devote her heart to ‘Mr. Right;’ which in this case is me, as the narrator… and my every intention is to pour fuel on the fire to encourage the breakup so that we can light our fire together. It’s a feel-good breakup anthem that trades tears for a matchstick.”
Haddock’s unwavering dedication has become a driving force behind his ascending career, carrying forward the momentum established by his recent singles, including his March release, “Heaven On Horseback.” Boasting more than seven million cumulative streams to date, Hayden’s recordings have been spotlighted on a variety of playlists, including Spotify’s “Texas Music Now” and “Texas Music Rewind,
