Hit Singer/Songwriter Bandana Cheyenna Overcomes Fears and Doubts in New Single “Devil In The Desert”
NASHVILLE, TENN. —Acclaimed Country/Americana artist and Nashville hit songwriter Bandana Cheyenna continues their breakout momentum with the release of Devil In The Desert, a soul-baring, raw and introspective new single, out now across all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
Penned solely by Cheyenna, Devil In The Desert stands out as one of their most vulnerable releases to date. The song was born during a defining period of transition, after leaving Los Angeles and living out of their car while driving through the isolation of the Nevada desert. In the stillness, the mental battles grew louder and the external noise faded — forcing a confrontation between self-belief and the inner voices of doubt, fear, and uncertainty. “This song is about learning how to separate your truth from the lies in your head,” shares Cheyenna. “When everything gets quiet, those negative voices get loud — the ones saying, ‘What are you even doing? You’re going nowhere.’ I had to decide which voice I was going to listen to and which thoughts were actually mine.”
The single anchors Cheyenna’s forthcoming project, Act II: The Desert EP, set for release May 29, 2026. The EP is the second installment in their ambitious four-part series, The Artist’s Pilgrimage, and explores what Cheyenna calls the “dry spell” of pursuing a dream – when the passion is unwavering, but the payoff remains just out of reach. Previously released track Onward Ridin’ will also appear on the project.
Blending vivid storytelling with a gritty, stripped-back country aesthetic, Devil In The Desert lands as both a personal reckoning and a universal anthem for anyone navigating uncertainty. Cheyenna transforms solitude into strength, offering a voice for those pushing forward, even when the path feels unclear.
Cheyenna is proving that the ‘desert’ isn’t the end of the road – it’s where the transformation begins. Best known for co-writing Austin (Boots Stop Workin’), the global smash hit by Dasha, Cheyenna has quickly become a sought-after songwriter while carving out a distinct lane as an artist. Their growing catalog includes Cupid’s A Cowgirl by Alexandra Kay, cuts with Magnolia Rising, and more. Cheyenna continues to expand their artistry while staying rooted in timeless Americana storytelling.
Cheyenna’s 2026 campaign has already gained significant traction. Following the release of Act I: The Dream of The Artist’s Pilgrimage, they celebrated with a packed Nashville release show and continued momentum with a four-song winter love series (Below Freezing, Every Little Piece, A Walk in the Woods, and Avalanche). They also debuted an outlaw-leaning rendition of Austin (Boots Stop Workin’) during a performance in Austin at SXSW, and is officially released everywhere digitally.
Their performance resume continues to expand with appearances at WSM-AM (the radio home of the Grand Ole Opry), The Bluebird Café, Folk Alliance International, SXSW, CRS, Tin Pan South, with additional performances slated around CMA Music Festival this June. Cheyenna was also named a finalist in the 2026 Music City Mayhem competition hosted by Nashville’s Lightning 100.
