Onoleigh Turns Dating Deja Vu Into a Bold New Anthem with “Copy & Paste,” Out Now

Rising singer/songwriter Onoleigh is stepping into her artistry with hard-earned clarity and confidence. Today, she turns dating deja vu into something sharp, self-aware and undeniably fun with a bold new anthem “Copy & Paste” – listen here. Featuring her signature blend of soulful vocals and vivid storytelling, the track takes a cheeky but honest look at dating patterns built around the realization that the same kind of person can keep showing up in different forms. Rather than pointing fingers, Onoleigh turns the lens inward – capturing the moment you stop blaming bad luck and start noticing your own habits.

Driven by witty lyrics penned by Onoleigh alongside Sam SZND, Stone Aielli, the song’s infectious hook balances emotional insight with playful honesty as she confesses, “bless my heart I can’t erase you / all I ever do is copy & paste you.”

“I got the idea for ‘Copy & Paste’ after realizing I was basically dating the same person over and over again,” shares Onoleigh. “Once I noticed the pattern, I couldn’t unsee it. The song became this really fun, self-aware way of calling myself out while also trying to grow from it.”

Stepping forward as her most realized self, Onoleigh isn’t just defining her own lane – she’s building a bridge between who she has been and who she is becoming. “Copy & Paste” offers an early glimpse of her forthcoming project, expected to arrive later this year, alongside recently released track “Never Beg A Man.” Collaborating with 5X GRAMMY®-nominated producer, engineer and mixer Paul Moak and producer/songwriter ANTi, this next chapter showcases her signature powerhouse voice with a newfound intimacy and honesty.

An Illinois native, Onoleigh released her debut EP FIRST RODEO last year, which has already surpassed one million streams – marking a defining breakthrough for the independent artist. Co-writing all five tracks, Onoleigh showcased “bold, emotionally charged” (All Country News) lyrics through “powerhouse vocals and vivid storytelling” (Tennessee Star), delivered with “remarkable force and confidence” (MusicRow). She carried that momentum onto the stage, delivering electrifying live performances and sharing bills with artists like KT Tunstall, Smokey Robinson and John Oates, among others.

Rooted in authenticity and driven by purpose her work extends far beyond the stage. A graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in social work, Onoleigh’s instinct to connect with people is woven into everything she does. That resolve comes to life through OVATION, the Nashville-based live music series she founded to spotlight original artists while partnering with nonprofits and community-driven causes – creating space for music to give back.
