(Nashville, Tennessee — April 22, 2026) — Emerging singer-songwriter Cooper Riley is set to release his new single, “Outta Time,” on Friday, May 1. With his blues-tinged take on classic country, the Memphis native has crafted a sound that feels both fresh and familiar.
Co-penned by Cooper and Alex Angelo and produced by Angelo, “Outta Time” follows previously released tracks “Why Why Why” and “Beyond Me.”
Diving into the grind of pursuing a music career, the song serves as a reminder that while watching the clock can leave you wondering if you’re progressing or just stuck in place, real growth comes not from counting hours, but from what you invest in them.
“Sometimes, being in this industry, you feel like all you’re doing is putting in time, watching the clock spin in front of your face. If you focus more on the time you’re spending instead of learning and growing, it’ll hold you back,” shares Cooper. “Time can either work for you or against you — I choose for it to work for me!”
Through the ups and downs that come with being in the music business, he has remained patient and authentic. For Cooper, the reward comes from crafting personal songs that resonate with listeners and connecting with different audiences when sharing his work onstage. He intentionally leaves space for individuals to interpret each tune through the lens of their own lives, showcasing the incredible ways music unites us all.
The 22-year-old has performed at Backstage Access Presents: Heartland and recently took the stage at Backstage Access Presents: Napa Valley. He plans to share more new music throughout 2026.
About Cooper Riley: Growing up in Memphis with a musical family, emerging singer-songwriter Cooper Riley was surrounded by soulful storytelling. Drawn to the sounds that scored his upbringing, he puts a bluesy twist on classic country elements to create a lane all his own. At age 18, Cooper fully immersed himself in songwriting and recording. Working on his first release, “Why Why Why,” pushed the songsmith vocally and revealed a range and flexibility he hadn’t yet tapped into. Inspired by the stylings of John Mayer, Chris Stapleton, and B.B. King, among others, he draws from personal experiences, observations, his faith, and more when making music — bringing his lyrics to life with chord progressions and freestyle sessions.
