NASHVILLE, TN (May 23, 2025) – Rising singer/songwriter Shaylen is letting her man know exactly where he stands in her new track “Daddy Issues.” He’s hurt her time and time again and constantly lets her down, but she hasn’t been able to get to the bottom of why she can’t seem to walk away. After spending countless hours psychoanalyzing herself to no avail, she ultimately comes to the conclusion that the only “daddy issue” at play here is the fact that her dad is ready to bury this man for what he’s done to his little girl. Penned by Sean Small, Sam Sumser and Emily Weisband and co-produced by Shaylen alongside award-winning producer Julian Raymond, “Daddy Issues” further solidifies Shaylen’s place as a standout vocalist and a resonant artist.

“‘Daddy Issues’ hit home for me in every way when I first heard it, because when your dad is a southern FBI agent like mine, he doesn’t mess around,” shares Shaylen. “This track feels like the perfect introduction to the next chapter of stories we’re getting ready to share, and I hope it’s cathartic for people who might be feeling stuck in a bad relationship.”
“Daddy Issues” marks Shaylen’s first release of 2025 and her second solo release since signing with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment last year. “To Tell You The Truth,” which All Country News describes as “a perfect showcase of the singer-songwriter’s ability to channel her personal life into powerful lyrics that resonate universally,” was released last fall and has connected with fans for its vulnerable message and relatability. Prior to that, Shaylen teamed up with labelmate Noah Hicks for the stirring duet “Second Time Around,” adding her “silky-smooth notes” (Country Now) to the electric track. She made her emotional Grand Ole Opry debut in October after Opry member Chris Young sweetly surprised her with the exciting invitation via FaceTime.
Shaylen will appear at CMA Fest next month with a performance at the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage on June 6 before hitting the road to play a number of fairs and festivals this summer including Captain’s Getaway (6/19), Watershed Festival (8/1), and more.
