It don’t matter what you smoke

Who love or how you vote

If you’re down and out or rollin’ in the dough

We’re all in the same boat

So we might as well row.

“We’re all in the same boat” is a phrase we hear all the time,” said the band. “We wanted to bring attention to the fact that we are all human and at the end of the day we all need each other. Even the people that sometimes might drive us crazy!”

Raquel Cole takes lead vocals on the affable song, which boasts a breezy feel and a universal message about the things that unite us. Band mates Dan O’Rourke and Leland Rooney join in on harmonies, all three channeling their individual strengths and influences into a unique sound that pays homage to their favorite 70s folk rock legends like the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.

An accomplished songwriter and wicked lead guitar player, Raquel also wrote the song with Molly Brown and Nell Maynard. Blake Chancey produced the track, which is available on Big Shadow Glen Records.

ABOUT THE WOODS:

Dan O’Rourke, Raquel Cole and Leland Rooney make up The Woods, a powerhouse trio of singers, songwriters, and musicians, who have built a devoted following opening for Tim McGraw, The Cadillac Three, Clint Black and others. Each member brings a specific skill set and musical history to their work together as The Woods. Cole is a native of British Columbia, Canada who has earned acclaim for her earnest, evocative vocals. O’Rourke was born in New Jersey but has really called the road his home as he’s spent time all over including taking up residence in California and Arizona before making his way to Nashville. Rooney is a Dallas, Texas native, who honed his skills on the competitive Lone Star music circuit before moving to Nashville.

When Cole, O’Rourke and Rooney met, there was instant chemistry. They combined their love for different sounds into the unique blend that became The Woods. Their rootsy, organic sound harkens back to the days when musicians gathered up close in the studio and let the sweat and creativity flow.
