NASHVILLE, TN – August 25, 2025 – Today, GRAMMY®, ACM, and CMA Award winning singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde unleashed the powerful official music video for her latest release, “Rattlesnake Preacher”.

Directed by Tyler Shoemaker and executive produced by McBryde, the official music video is a fiery flashback, loosely inspired by McBryde’s experience growing up in rural Arkansas as the daughter of the town physician, guest preacher, and dedicated brimstone speaker.

The four-and-a-half-minute clip starts at a modern day trauma support group, where McBryde is invited to share. The video immediately cuts to a memory of a one-room church in her hometown, where a young Ashley holds her mother’s hand, filing in behind her father for Sunday service.

McBryde explodes into the bombastic revelation of “Rattlesnake Preacher” as the story unfolds, cutting from present-day McBryde’s confessions to snapshot recollections of the man who “spent his life rattling cages / And running that Devil’s ass back to Hell” and brought “90-proof truth to a tent full of sinners / ‘Til there wasn’t one single unsaved soul left.”

“Releasing the official video for ‘Rattlesnake’ has a ton of truth telling in it,” McBryde says. “There’s so much wrapped up in those lyrics that you might miss if you didn’t know the woman singing it.”

“The super complex feelings one has when they’re proud of how they were raised, and so confused throughout their life about how what was preached and what was lived were so vastly different. To be raised to live in fear of the creator but also taught to seek your comfort from him…that’s pretty confusing as a kid,” she continues. “And now to hear and sing ‘yes, Jesus loves me,’ as a question, and a statement riddled with doubt, and ultimately, a defiant declaration of truth. That’s the power visual media adds to a song like this. To be a writer on this treatment is a new milestone for me. One I’m awfully proud of.”

The “Rattlesnake Preacher” official music video was shot in Nashville, TN, and features a special cameo from McBryde’s Warner Music Nashville labelmates, The Band Loula. Watch Here

Fans were thrilled for the official release of “Rattlesnake Preacher” in June, as the charged anthem has been a staple in McBryde’s live show set for nearly a decade. Met with rapturous reception, Parade observed the song’s “commanding, raw vocal,” while Whiskey Riff called it “a must listen.” Listen to “Rattlesnake Preacher” HERE
