Genre-Blending Matt Cooper Releases Coming-of-Age Celebration Song, “24”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 22, 2026) – Genre-blending artist Matt Cooper today released the deeply personal “24,” a rollicking, coming-of-age celebration that soundtracks the everyday yet seminal moments of one’s teenage years through early adulthood.
“24” showcases a country-roots-pop soundscape that pulses with longing and optimism. Propelled by lively banjo and a thunderous, crowd-sung chorus, Cooper looks ahead—and behind—with both wonder and gratitude, as summarized in the song’s simple, joyful refrain, What a time to be alive.

“I wrote ‘24’ around my 24th birthday—I’m 25 now—and it’s a story about growing up with my brothers and then my friends in college,” says Cooper. “It’s super nostalgic, and I’ve always wanted to write a song like that.”
Written solely by Cooper and co-produced by Cooper alongside rising Texas-born artist and producer Brooks Huntley, “24” compresses ten years of young life into just three minutes. From carefree early adolescence to discovering a bigger world in a college town, the song flips through heartwarming musical snapshots of a young man who loves his life but who’s also in a hurry to grow up.
“24” comes as Cooper’s debut radio single, “Highs & Lows,” continues to climb the country charts. The life-affirming, feel-good track skyrocketed to become the No. 1 Most Added Song at U.S. Country Radio (Mediabase) out-of-the-box and has earned more than 14 million streams to date. “Highs & Lows” has been lauded as “an anthem” by Billboard and “a splashy debut” by Taste of Country, which named Cooper as one of its “RISERS: 2026 Artists to Watch.”
Signed to WME, Cooper has recently opened for the likes of Jelly Roll, Chris Janson, Jon Pardi, Parmalee, and Kameron Marlowe. The talented newcomer will make his CMA Fest debut on Sunday, June 7, at 11:20 a.m. CT, performing on the Wrangler Remix Stage.
On June 11, Cooper will join Gary Allan and Joe Nichols for the Bi-Mart Country Bash in Nampa, Idaho. For a full list of spring and summer tour dates as they are added, visit mattcoopermusic.com/tour.
