Hit Singer/Songwriter Bandana Cheyenna Releases Own Version of Global Smash “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” with Adam Wendler

NASHVILLE, TENN. —Acclaimed Country/Americana artist and Nashville hitmaker BANDANA CHEYENNA – best known for co-writing Austin (Boots Stop Workin’), the global smash hit by Dasha – is reclaiming the anthem with the release of their own bold, outlaw-leaning version of the track. Boots Stop Workin’ is now available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

Teaming with fellow songwriter and collaborator Adam Wendler, they both reimagined the billion-streamed hit as a duet through a gritty, swampy Americana lens, delivering a rowdy, barroom-ready rendition that feels both personal and powerful.

Written by Dasha, Bandana Cheyenna, Adam Wendler, and Kenneth Travis Heidelman, this version was produced by Adam Wendler, Bandana Cheyenna, and Derek Ullenboom, and takes listeners back to the song’s origin story. “Adam and I have been writing outlaw, swampy songs together for the past two years,” Cheyenna shares. “Our very first write together was ‘Austin.’ Our friendship has grown into one of my favorite creative partnerships, and when we decided to reimagine it, we knew we wanted to lean all the way into that rowdy outlaw energy — especially that final chorus. We can picture an entire bar singing it at the top of their lungs. It feels like an anthem at the end of a musical.”

The release arrives just in time for Cheyenna’s appearances at SXSW — and fittingly, fans can expect Cheyenna to be singing “Austin” in Austin.

Cheyenna is wrapping up her four-song winter love series — Below Freezing, Every Little Piece, A Walk In The Woods, and Avalanche — which was released January and February of this year, showcasing their gift for blending vulnerability with cinematic storytelling.

Beyond Austin, Cheyenna is also recognized for co-writing Alexandra Kay’s viral smash Cupid’s A Cowgirl, music by Magnolia Rising, and many more. With two full-length albums and Act I of her ambitious four-part EP series The Artist’s Pilgrimage already released — and Act II arriving later this Spring, Cheyenna continues to expand their artistry while staying rooted in timeless Americana sensibilities.

Their performance résumé includes appearances on WSM-AM (the radio home of the Grand Ole Opry), performances at The Bluebird Café (including one earlier this month), Nashville Pride, Folk Alliance International, and more. A winner of Female Song of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards and a 2024 & 2025 ASCAP Awards honoree, Cheyenna continues to cement themselves as a songwriter and performer who resonates deeply with audiences worldwide.
