Sela Campbell Debuts With First Single “Diamond In Your Pocket”

Rising country artist Sela Campbell makes her official debut with the release of “Diamond In Your Pocket,” out now on all streaming platforms. The track marks the introduction of a bold new voice in country music, blending classic influences with a modern, emotionally raw edge as she sets the stage for her debut EP, Lovin’ Made Me Mean, arriving this June.

“I can’t put into words how excited I am about my debut single, ‘Diamond in Your Pocket.’ What started as an iPhone demo in my dorm room is now something I get to share with the world,” Campbell shares. “It’s a culmination of my life as a 19-year-old girl and the great classic country artists my parents raised me on. I’m so grateful to those who helped make it happen, and I couldn’t be more proud of it!”

“Diamond In Your Pocket” tells its story with a blunt honesty of the realization that comes from leaving a relationship full of empty promises. Lines like, “You call me the prettiest girl you’ve ever seen / But that girl you talk to on the phone don’t look nothing like me,” set the tone for a song that doesn’t hold back, while the hook, “You had a diamond in your pocket but you were still picking pennies off the ground,” drives the point home, turning heartbreak into a sharp reminder of what gets lost when you don’t know what you’ve got. Campbell’s gritty, expressive vocals give the song its edge, blending vulnerability with confidence.

Raised in Leesburg, Virginia, Campbell grew up on classic country, with artists like Waylon Jennings and Dolly Parton shaping her sound from an early age. She started strumming a guitar when she was five and was soon playing local gigs, racking up show after show before she even finished high school.

At just 19 years old, Campbell is forging her own path, mixing the country staples she grew up with and some Southern rock grit from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, along with a modern edge inspired by artists like Miranda Lambert. She splits her time between Virginia and Nashville, already making a name for herself out on the road and opening for acts like Kashus Culpepper and Carly Pearce.

“Diamond In Your Pocket” marks Campbell’s debut with a song that’s hard to ignore, hinting at the sharp storytelling and attitude listeners can expect from her forthcoming EP, Lovin’ Made Me Mean. With her first release, she steps forward with a sound that’s fresh but still deeply rooted in the country tradition.
